Too Blessed To Be Stressed!
Nina Erhabor, who recently crowned Miss West Africa Canada, will join all other soon to be discovered Miss West Africa’s around the World, to then compete for the Miss West Africa International title in December 2011. Nigerian born Nina Erhabor is the first confirmed title holder and Queen to be confirmed for the Miss West Africa International pageant as Miss West Africa Canada. Nina, whose father is the pastor of Redeem Christian Church and her mother is the choir director, has already begun her goodwill work as a West African ambassador in Canada.
The Miss West Africa beauty pageant started in 2008 as an event with contestants whose origins were from all over West Africa, competing for the title in a show that would transcend national barriers in its scope and ambition. Since the crowning of the first ever queen, Amina Kamara from Sierra Leone in 2008 and the second and current international queen, Shireen Benjamin from Sierra Leone in 2009, people all over the World are getting excited in anticipation of discovering who will follow Shireen Benjamin’s footsteps, and even more so, which country she would originate from.
The Miss West Africa brand and franchise was conceived by Nana Tamakloe in 2007. Ever since the first event, the brand has grown rapidly and now has become an international entity bringing a new light, professionalism and a breath of fresh air to fans of African beauty pageants around the World. Nana Tamakloe has also been working with some of the best organisations around the world to promote and franchise the Miss West Africa name. He says, “What I intend to do with Miss West Africa is to have everything well organised, professional, and most importantly of all entertaining! If you are hardworking, show sufficient effort, have respect for your brand, and have talented colleagues, you can become the best. I am taking Miss West Africa alongside the likes of Miss World, and Miss Universe with the objective of letting people know about issues in the West African community, the beautiful women, the amazing culture and most of all, making West Africans proud”.
Nina will have the full support of Canada as well as Nigeria as we draw closer to Miss West Africa International, however for her to be Shireen’s successor she would need to win the support of West Africans all over the world just as she did in Canada. We are proud of our queen, and hope we groom her to be a successful contestant in Miss West Africa International.
